We primarily do residential work, with some commercial and a tiny amount of industrial work. The divisions in residential are typically Interior, Exterior, Fine finish and Faux finish.
Surface preparation is about 75% of the work in exterior painting, and is the key to producing a long lasting piece of work. The purpose of painting is to protect the substrate, secondarily to beautify the building or object.
Interior: Interior work includes walls and ceilings, new and repaint. Millwork and doors, new and repaint. Cabinets finishes and refinishing, wallpaper removal, drywall repairs, texturing walls and ceilings. Staining wood, and refinishing stained wood(s) inside are higher skill and more demanding finishes. Restoration of properties with historical value is within our skill.
Exterior: Exterior work includes New construction and repainting of exteriors of houses(residential) and buildings(commercial) Restoration of exteriors of historical value is also part of the work. Deck finishes, refinish and restoration.
| Exterior repaint process: Powerwash exterior using mildewcide solution removing dirt, mildew, loose and failing paint. Hand scrape to remove remaining loose and failing paint. (optionally) sand and or grind surface to smooth removing edges left in coating after scraping. Properly protect all surfaces not to be painted. This means windows, rooflines, concrete, trees, plants, shrubs, generally anything that is not to be painted. Caulk all joints and joins, surface cracks and checking, deep or inset nails. Prime raw wood and areas where paint is weak. Topcoat the house, backroll as needed, also recommended, second coat the darn thing. (few do) Trim the house. Paint doors on the house. Clean up and touchup, leaving touchup paint. |
